1 # denote: Simple notes with an efficient file-naming scheme 2 3 Denote is a simple note-taking tool for Emacs. It is based on the idea 4 that notes should follow a predictable and descriptive file-naming 5 scheme. The file name must offer a clear indication of what the note is 6 about, without reference to any other metadata. Denote basically 7 streamlines the creation of such files while providing facilities to 8 link between them. 9 10 [Watch the video demo that was produced before version 0.1.0 of the 11 package](https://protesilaos.com/codelog/2022-06-18-denote-demo/). 12 13 + Package name (GNU ELPA): `denote` 14 + Official manual: <https://protesilaos.com/emacs/denote> (the manual is 15 installed with the package---evaluate `(info "(denote) Top")`) 16 + Change log: <https://protesilaos.com/emacs/denote-changelog> 17 + Git repo on SourceHut: <https://git.sr.ht/~protesilaos/denote> 18 - Mirrors: 19 + GitHub: <https://github.com/protesilaos/denote> 20 + GitLab: <https://gitlab.com/protesilaos/denote> 21 + Mailing list: <https://lists.sr.ht/~protesilaos/denote> 22 + Backronyms: Denote Everything Neatly; Omit The Excesses.
